COURSE MAP AND DESCRIPTION
The Cinco de Mile Run is an out and back course on the bike path at Hospitality Point, with one 180 degree turn. Racers are required to stay to the right side of the path approaching and leaving the turn. The course is USATF certified (CA18021RS).
DIRECTIONS (TRAFFIC ALERT FOR RACE DAY)
Location: Hospitality Point Gazebo, 2536 Quivira Ct, San Diego, CA 92109
There is a triathlon in Mission Bay and the bike course shares the road that leads to Hospitality Point. Traffic is not blocked from getting to the Cinco Mile Run but you will need to be aware of potential detours (see 2018 map below - check back race week). Road detours will begin at approximately 6:15 AM and you should expect slower than usual traffic past 7:00 AM when the first bikers are out on the road. Please allow for an extra 10-15 minutes to reach the race location.
Southbound on the 5
Sea World Drive will be closed to all traffic. People going south on the 5 should exit Balboa Ave/Garnet Ave. Turn right onto Garnet Ave, merge onto Grand Ave, and then make left onto Ingraham Street. Follow the directions for “Southbound on Ingraham” below. This will add about 10 minutes from the normal commute.
Southbound on Ingraham from Grand Ave in Pacific Beach
People coming south on Ingraham from Grand/PB can make a right on Dana Landing Road, which becomes Quivera Rd/Quivera Way once you cross W Mission Bay Dr.
Northbound on Ingraham from the 8
People coming northbound on Ingraham from the 8 will be directed to take the detour outlined in the map below.
From Mission Beach
People can come through Mission Beach down Mission Blvd and make a left on W. Mission Bay Dr. and then make a right onto Quivera Rd/Quivera Way.
